New to the game, but not taking much time to adjust, the Interchangeable Stringer System works so you don’t have to. Perfect for the bodyboarder basing themselves between climates, the Interchangeable Stringer System offers users the ability to change the flex on the inside of their bodyboard depending on conditions, be it wave size, water temp or personal preference. The ISS system, as any new system, has been branded by many self-deemed ‘pro’ bodyboarders a hoax. A statement and theory to which we might casually point out, if you don’t understand it or appreciate it, you’re probably not at the level to ride it either. Now, your bodyboard foam regardless of its make will freeze up and soften down dependant on the temperature of water you’re surfing. You take a PP bodyboard into freezing waters it’s going to be absolutely rigid and hard to control. You take an NRG or PE board in warm waters it’s going to be flexible and sluggish. The ISS chamber allows bodyboarders to access their flex and change how much their board is pulling up in accordance to the water temperature. The bodyboard stringers of which ISS have introduced are of four different categories of flex varying between super stiff and super soft. The variations of stringers will allow your board to perform to it’s maximum potential regardless of the climate to which you’re surfing in. For the travelling or hardcore bodyboarder these stringers are the ultimate creation.
Now atop of this. It’s a personal preference game. Typically, the more flex you have the more control you get over your board. Whilst the less flex you have you’re sacrificing control often for drive and speed down the line. With this ISS changer you can use the bodyboard stringers to create your own personalised ride and find the flex which suits you best. Please note that all ISS bodyboards come with a standard stringer. You’re not required to buy them straight away. Once you receive the board, it’s your turn to decide which way you go? Harder, or softer.
