AfterPay and Zippay: Surf now, pay later

AfterPay and Inverted Bodyboarding

How does AfterPay work?

Afterpay is the future of online shopping. Let's say you're in need of a new set up, but short on cash till payday. Afterpay makes your purchases manageable by breaking down the payments in to 4 smaller fortnightly payments.

It’s like a lay-by, but better – you get your gear immediately instead of waiting until you pay it off!

There is no minimum spend, however there is a maximum of $1,000.

You can have multiple transactions running at once, up to a value of $2500 if they have the necessary credit/debit cards attached.

All you need is:

  • A debit or credit card
  • To be over 18 years of age
  • To live in Australia
  • Visa or MasterCard (please note AMEX is not accepted)

Using Afterpay is easy! Simply select Afterpay as your payment method at checkout and enter your details!

If you’re a new AfterPay user, your first payment will be deducted in full at the time of purchase. After that, you’ll no longer be considered a ‘new’ AfterPay user and payment on your next order will be deducted in 4 equal fortnightly installments.

New Afterpay customers will be charged their first payment installment at the time of purchase. Once your first order is fully paid off after 6 weeks, you'll be an Afterpay pro and for all future orders under $500 your first payment is charged 2 weeks after purchase with your final payment deducted 8 weeks after the purchase.

If you fail to make a payment on the due dates, you will be charged a late payment fee of $10 and an additional $7 fee will be charged if your payment remains overdue a week later.

Zip Pay About

How does ZipPay work?

ZipPay approves you up to $1000 in spendings and does so in a mere few minutes. The ultimate way to get your hands on a new setup without paying top dollar on the spot on the day. Similar to a lay buy except this way you take your product(s) away on the spot.

From here it's all up to you.

Schedule payments, don't schedule payments, pay it back when you can, don't pay it back when you can't. The choice is yours - pay it back, but pay it back at your own pace. Once the purchase is complete, you have 60 days to pay your account fee free. The minimum pay back per month is $40. That's $10 a week and mind you, that's interest free.

$6 account fee applies if your closing balance is not paid by the due date. No balance - no fee.

Finer details:

Using ZipPay is easy! Simply select ZipPay as your payment method at checkout and enter your details!

ZipPay works like a general account. For all purchases you make during a month you receive a statement detailing your closing balance on the 1st day of the month following. You have until the end of the month to pay off your balanace for the account to remain fee free.

Payments are taken automatically via direct debit, so you don't need to manually transfer money unless you want to pay down your balance faster. You set up your payments and can choose them to fall monthly, fortnightly or weekly dependant on what suits you best (provided you're paying the minimum of $40 a month). If you can't decide on a customised plan, ZipPay will set one up for you.

If your payment fails you will be issued a notification. Simply put money into your nominated payment method and ZipPay will attempt to reprocess the payment the following day.
