The bodyboard leash is what keeps you alive. It’s what keeps you in the game. The bodyboard leash is a strong coiled connection which stretches between your arm and your board connecting the two together. Bodyboard leashes vary in terms of branding, swivels and coil length. All of which comes down to personal preference more than anything else. Our basic bodyboarding leashes have two plastic connections at each and will act effectively in waves around the 1-2 feet margin. These leashes are typically manufactured for bodyboarders---- looking to have a bit of fun in the shore more than anything else. The next jump from here will incorporate a single or double swivel connection. The swivel, by comparison to the plastic connection will turn on a metal bearing. This means not only is it going to be a lot stronger and durable in the water, but also as for the swivelling your leash isn’t going to tangle quite as easy as what it might without. You’ll see throughout our range of bodyboard leashes as well that the length of the cord varies quite dramatically in some instances. Now, the more tight and coiled bodyboard leashes will keep out of your way once you’re on the wave, but will sometimes cause you grief whilst paddling. The longer leash cords by comparison will keep out of your way whilst paddling but can sometimes get caught in undesirable positions once you’re on the wave.
