Using waterproof EPS (Extruded Polystyrene) foam to reinforce their boards, the Ryder series offers durability and buoyancy like you would not expect from a soft surfboard. The EPS core is a much more compressed foam and acts accordingly, minimising flex and maximising durability in all surfboard shapes. Atop of the EPS core comes a Skintec decking in Ryder’s Mal and Fish templates. The Skintec decking offers a second layer of decking beneath the on-display decking. The Skintec works to maximise the board's life and rigidity by absorbing heavy impacts and strengthening the deck.
