With a resurge in vintage bodyboarding Mike Stewarts tried and tested Viper fins are back on a pedestal. The Viper fins are of the stiffer category and offer maximum propulsion accordingly. Classified as intermediate to high performance surfing fins, all Viper surfing fins are made of superior natural rubber compounds which allows them to float and as for their black colourway are often visible in all conditions making them amongst the least likely to lose in the ocean. With appropriated drainage at the bottom of the foot the Viper fins use the---- waterflow to flush pebbles, sand and rocks straight back out through the bottom. Offering maximum thrust in both upward and downward kicks the Vipers offer rapid acceleration for take offs. The shape of the fin offers maximum leverage once on the wave too allowing the user to sit and maintain control in the pocket of the wave. Now, alongside the MS Viper is the Viper Delta fin which caters for the rider with a softer foot pocket whilst maintaining that stern Viper fin blade. Maintaining a strong and powerful kick, these fins create minima drag once on the wave and the coloured inner points create a directional release point for waterflow. This control point has been modified to align and act as an extension of your big toe which enhances control whilst riding.
Really. If they’re good enough for Mike Stewart, they’re good enough for you. Manufactured and altered to improve throughout their lifespan, these fins aren’t popular by name association. They’re popular as for their consistency across the years. A go to for old timers and a go to for new comers. Mike Stewart’s Viper fins have lasted the test of time and will continue to last the test of time as it and bodyboarding progresses.
