Now and then ~ Davis Blackwell.
For more than 15 years, Davis Blackwell has been a loyal and valued member of the Inverted Bodyboarding team. Through countless sessions, trips, swells and heavy-water moments, Davis has represented the brand with his own unmistakable approach to bodyboarding: committed, stylish and always ready to send it.We’re proud to share Now & Then — a new bodyboarding retrospective presented by Inverted Bodyboarding and edited in collaboration with We Bodyboard.
Spanning years of footage, Now & Then is a trip through the archives of one of Australian bodyboarding’s true characters. Expect boosts, barrels, beatdowns, and the kind of sessions that only come from years spent chasing waves and pushing your limits.
A look through the Davis Blackwell archives
The film takes viewers through some of Western Australia’s most serious and recognisable bodyboarding waves, including Cyclops, The Right, Medge, Box, and beyond.
These are not easy waves. They demand confidence, timing, commitment and a willingness to put yourself in challenging situations. Over the years, Davis has continued to bring all of that, whether he is launching boosts, finding a barrel, or taking the wipeout that comes with giving everything to a wave.
Now & Then captures that journey in one fast-paced retrospective.
15 years of support and commitment
Davis has been an Inverted athlete for over 15 years, making this release especially meaningful for our crew. Long-term team riders are part of the foundation of what Inverted Bodyboarding is about: supporting passionate bodyboarders, backing the people who live the sport, and sharing the stories that come from years in the water.
This clip is a celebration of Davis’s bodyboarding, his loyalty to the team, and the long list of waves and sessions that have shaped his journey.

A huge thanks goes to Jason at We Bodyboard for putting this edit together. The film was edited by We Bodyboard using archive footage supplied by Inverted Bodyboarding, with footage captured by Luke Waylen, James Strickland, Miller Best, Rex Nink-Mowday and Tom Jennings.
The result is a raw, entertaining, high-energy look at Davis Blackwell doing what he has always done best: charging waves and having a good time along the way.
