Few riders have been part of the Inverted Bodyboarding story for as long as Sam Proctor. His new feature, Leaf in the Wind, is a 30-minute bodyboarding film that captures years of sessions, travel, and progression across some of the best spots on the east coast of Australia.
Shot between 2022 and 2026, the film moves through the South and North Coasts of NSW, the Sunshine and Gold Coasts of Queensland, and finishes with a short winter stint in Victoria. Blending bodyboarding action with Super 8 lifestyle footage and B-roll, it offers a wider look at the pace, personality, and places that shaped the project.
A film built over time What makes Leaf in the Wind stand out is the time and effort behind it. This is not a quick edit or a one-session release, it is a feature-length project built across multiple years, locations, and conditions.
That long timeline gives the film a different feel. It reflects Sam’s consistency, love for the sport, and ability to keep pushing forward season after season. For loyal bodyboarding fans, it is the kind of project that feels both personal and authentic. This film was proudly supported by Inverted Bodyboarding and Roots Bodyboarding, with thanks also given to the contributing filmers, photographers, bands, and everyone else who helped bring the project together.
