This week we caught up with our team rider Davis Blackwell about his recent stints in Indo and Bali in wake of his new edit 'Norit'. Check it out here, or on our YouTube Channel.
Q. How are you, whats been happening in the life of Wingass lately?
A. All good at this end thanks brother! Just got back from Bali, did a fun day trip for waves yesterday & had my first day back on the conc train today with Gringoss.
Q. Ripping man, Hows Indo/Bali?
A. Yeah it was fun like always, boardies and no fear of sharks, can’t complain!
Q. You have been there twice within the last year, whats the big drawcard for you there?
A. It’s warm! Boardies over a 4/3 any day of the week haha. It's also consistent and plenty of fun waves on offer.
Q. Whats your fave wave there?
A. Echo is such a fun wedge, I love that joint!
Q. Where do you spend most of your time when you're in Bali?
A. Just in Canggu for this trip, it’s easy and also is a good zone to have as base.
Q. How is it post covid there?
A. It’s back to normal. It's busy, which is epic for all the locals and buisness! Just be careful on the bikes too many idiots hurting themselves or others. If ya Fken blind get a Gojek don’t be a hero.
Q. 100%, stoked to hear tourism is kicking back in there. What are you top 5 surf trip essentials?
A. Sunscreen/ Zinc, probiotics, universal travel power adapter, passport, correct wetties for water temp!
Q. Yeah remembering your passport on an overseas trip always helps! Now that travel has opened back up, whats on the cards for the rest of 22 and for 23?
A. Nothing locked in yet but warm waves or waves with ramps and pits! Always keen to go have a sniff when the charts light up :)
